Hastings Junior Football ClubFor the kids
Young Auskickers gather around a coach on the oval at Hastings Park.

Auskick

The first step into footy. Fun, simple and for every kid.

Where it all starts

NAB AFL Auskick is the national program that teaches kids the basics of Aussie rules through games and simple drills. No experience needed, for kids or parents.

At Hastings, Auskick runs at Hastings Park alongside our junior teams, so kids can see where footy can take them. When they're ready, they move up into our Under 8s.

What a session looks like

  1. Warm up with games

Running games that get everyone moving and laughing.

  2. Learn a skill

Kicking, handballing, marking or bouncing, a little at a time.

  3. Play a game

Small-sided games where every kid touches the ball.

Questions parents ask

Does my child need to have played before?

No. Auskick is built for kids who are new to footy.

Do parents stay?

Yes, please. Parents and carers stay for the session, and plenty join in.

What should they bring?

Runners or boots, a water bottle, a hat on sunny days and a warm layer for cold mornings.

How do I register?

Auskick registration is through Play AFL. Find Hastings and register, or email us at [email protected] and we'll help.
